The house at the intersection of Kallidromiou and Plapouta str. stands imposingly in the region of Exarcheia. The building is mainly characterized by the three prominent erkers on both facades. The central circular erker that extends on both sides is particularly impressive.
The symmetry of the facades gives the impression that the building is divided into three parts. The house is a four-storey building; the attic was built later and differs morphologically. The main entrance on Plapouta str. has a large decorated door framed with Doric columns.
The house, original property of Arg. Manolkidis, was built in the early 20th century. It expresses architect Nicholaos Nicolaides’ selections on the first Athenian multi-storey buildings.
The house on Kallidromiou and 2 Plapouta str in Athens is under the protection of the Ministry of Culture.
